Chorus Program

Grade 5 Chorus

All students in grade 5 have the opportunity to participate in chorus. The Grade 5 Chorus is an all-inclusive, non-auditioned ensemble, which studies a wide variety of choral repertoire encompassing many musical genres from classical, ethnic, folk, pop to musical theater. Students are held to high performance standards through practice of basic vocal techniques while developing choral blend and musicality. The chorus works towards three important performances per year: Winter Concert, ChorusFest, and Spring Concert. Attendance is mandatory at all and concerts as the ensemble studies performance technique throughout the year.

Concert Chorus

All students in grades 6-8 have the opportunity to participate in concert chorus. The Concert Chorus is an all-inclusive, non-auditioned ensemble, which studies a wide variety of choral repertoire encompassing many musical genres from classical, ethnic, folk, pop, a capella to musical theater. This ensemble meets Wednesday mornings before school as well as Thursdays during band/chorus block. This ensemble performs for the Winter concert, ChorusFest, and Spring Concert. Attendance is required for all rehearsals and concerts.

Select Chorus

Students in grades 6-8 also have the opportunity to audition for Select Chorus. This ensemble meets Thursday and Friday mornings before school and studies a wide variety of choral repertoire encompassing many musical genres from classical, ethnic, folk, pop, a capella to musical theater. The music is more difficult and these students are expected to perform with a higher level of musicianship than the concert chorus. This ensemble performs for the Winter concert, ChorusFest, and Spring Concert. Attendance is required for all rehearsals and concerts.
