My name is Ms. LaFosse and I am so excited to be your music and choir teacher this year. If you have ever sung in the shower, hummed along to a tune on the radio, or lip-synced to your favorite band, you are automatically qualified to be a singer in our choir! This ensemble is open to students in all grades, split up into a fifth grade, and a combined sixth, seventh, and eighth grade choir. This year will focus on a wide variety of genres. We will be singing pop songs, standard choral pieces, and works from across the world. I strive to make my classroom and ensemble a welcoming and fun community. Joining music was the best decision I’ve ever made, and I hope that is the same for you. If you want to make lifelong friends, have a great time, and make wonderful music, please consider joining our choir. If you have any questions, reach me through email: glafosse@nmrsd.org

Welcome back to returning students and a big hello to anyone who is considering joining us as a new student. For those of you new to the program here is a brief overview: Students will receive a lesson based on their instrument selection in a small group that will follow a rotation schedule based on a specific day. In addition students will also have a full band block (Tuesday mornings for Grade 5, Thursday afternoon for Grades 6-8). Lesson schedules will be available to see within the shared NMS Band Information Folder. The lesson program will tentatively begin on Monday September 9th for our 5th band students, with 6-8 grades starting on Tuesday September 3rd. More information will be shared directly with students regarding their individual lesson times and days as it becomes available via email/drive.
